hey, remember when i actually used this?
looking at old entries makes me feel weird.
i made a twitter months and months ago, which is better for quick thoughts and there's less of a chance of me sounding retarded when i look back on it.

Notes:
-Rivers was really awkward/awesome. Especially during Troublemaker, which he didn't play guitar for. He also had a trampoline and spoke in various different languages.
-They covered Oasis's "Morning Glory" (for which Pat sang/guitared and Rivers drummed) and Nirvana's "Sliver" (sans Brian).
-Lots of vocal changes: Pat/Scott/Rivers on Jonas, Scott on Perfect Situation and Dope Nose, Brian on Susanne and Scorcho.
-Tom Delonge sang the first verse of Undone. Angels & Airwaves' drummer played on that and Automatic (for which Rivers was not on stage).
-Jacknife Lee played Moog on King (and maybe others).
-Island and Beverly were hootenannies. There were about 30 kids on stage.
-The second encore started with Heart Songs being played on a small red record player. They seemed to be having trouble with it, and it started playing about halfway through the song. Rivers came out and KICKED IT ACROSS THE STAGE. The man has lost his mind and I love him.

[music |Green Day - Hold On]

I've been listening to a ridiculous amount of Green Day lately. I only own American Idiot, Insomniac, and Shenanigans, so that's pretty much all of their stuff that I've listened to for the past five years.
But this Foxboro Hot Tubs business renewed my interest, so I dug up Craig's scratched up copies of their back catalogue. It's like nostalgia central up in here.
I've been mostly listening to Warning, which was my favorite back in the day, and is now barely 2nd to American Idiot. Which is a great record, I don't care what anybody says.

In other news, The Presidents Of The United States Of America are playing the Bowery, but it's 18+.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittyyyyyyyyy.

I saw Bright Eyes at Radio City Music Hall last night. It was the third time I'd seen them and probably the worst. The band was too small and the venue was too large. But it was still a great show and it was actually the best setlist I'd seen them play.

Four Winds
We Are Nowhere And It's Now
You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will.

[music |pansy division - a song of remembrance for old boyfriends]

Pansy Division was really fucking good. They played an amazing set and I was very impressed with how well they played. I hope they come around again soon.
And you can't go wrong with a band that ends a show with ripping up a Bible.

I Can't Sleep
Dick Of Death
Bad Boyfriend
Who Treats You Right
Twinkie Twinkie Little Star
Spiral
Deep Water
The Cocksucker Club
Fem In A Black Leather Jacket
James Bondage
Luv Luv Luv
He Whipped My Ass In Tennis, Then I Fucked His Ass In Bed
No Protection
20 Years Of Cock
Bunnies
Alpine Skiing
I'm Gonna Be A Slut

After Pansy Division, we hopped over to Irving to see the Comedians Of Comedy, which was great as well. We missed the first about five minutes of Patton Oswalt's opening set, but whatever. Other comedians included Aziz Ansari, David Cross, Brian Posehn, John Mulaney, Maria Bamford, Eugene Mirman, and a few more.

Now I have to write an English essay. Bleh.

[music |stfu.]

The Pipettes album came out in America today and guess what? It's totally remixed! Entirely! Great idea!
It's really the most disappointing thing of all time ever. I've been waiting for a CD copy of this album for over a year and we get handed this pile of shit. I've listened to it fully once and I'm listening to it again right now and i've decided that it's pretty unlistenable. Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

[mood |ugh!]

okay, so i ordered bright eyes tickets for radio city a few weeks ago. it was the preorder and i tried the second it started. i got row h. since radio city does double letters first, that's around row 35.
i just tried again on a whim and i got ROW FUCKING OO. 19 ROWS CLOSER. what the hell is wrong with ticketmaster? why would they wait a few weeks to sell the better tickets? learn how to run your fucking business.

it seems like this livejournal has turned into me complaining about shows. blah blah blah.

in non-show related news, school's going pretty well so far, i guess.

i fucking hate not having money. just when i thought i was doing okay, i find out that aqueduct is opening for the apples in stereo at maxwell's. it's on a school night so i'm gonna have to tell my parents it's on long island. i hate doing that. i'm also gonna get 3 hours of sleep that night.
i was superpsyched about this show until i factored in all that shit.
it would be so much easier to just not go. ugh.
school ruins everything.

no. fuck it. i'm going and i'm having fun. that's that. i think too much.

I just saw Junior Senior play an in-store at Sound Fix Records and it was fucking amazing. They only played six songs and it went by way too quickly. I was surprised they only played two from the new album. I'm very sad that I don't have the money to see them with Gravy Train!!!! tomorrow.

Last night was the fourth and final TMBG Bowery show (and my 20th TMBG show). It was obviously great, but the set was sorta lackluster compared to the previous three shows. It was the only one in which everything they played I've seen before. I also had a terrible cold and was operating on three hours of sleep due to that cold.
Oppenheimer opened. They weren't that great, but they were better than The Last Car.

The horns came out for both encores.

On the setlist, Flans wrote END "(peace sign)" THE TOU (the R didnt fit). I'm pretty sure that made me more happy than anything that happened during the show. My favorite band making a Prince reference is just too goddamn great.

I might see Junior Senior do an instore at Sound Fix on Sunday. It all rests in the hands of Milli.
Please, Milli. Please.

I just saw TMBG play a kids show at this place in Oyster Bay called the Planting Fields Arboretum. It was my first seated TMBG show and was sorta weird. But still pretty great. It wasn't much compared to the Bowery shows but still fun and I'm glad I didn't have to pay the $40 it cost the kid who gave me the ticket.
